Distributed CSPs: Why It Is Assumed a Variable per Agent?

چکیده

Nowadays, many real problems can be formalized as Distributed CSPs. A distributed constraint satisfaction problem (DisCSP) is a CSP in which variables and constraints are distributed among multiple automated agents. Many researchers assume for simplicity that each agent has exactly one variable. For real distributed problem these techniques require a large amount of messages passed among agents, so these problems are very difficult to solve. In this research summary, we question why the lack of works to manage large-scale problems. keywords: Distributed Constraint Satisfaction Problems.

Asynchronous Weak-Commitment Search for Solving Large-Scale Distributed Constraint Satisfaction Problems

A distributed constraint satisfaction problem (Distributed CSP) (Yokoo et aL 1992) is a constraint satisfaction problem in which variables and constraints are distributed among multiple agents. Surprisingly a wide variety of AI problems can be formalized as CSPs. Similarly, various application problems in DAI which are concerned with finding a consistent combination of agent actions (e.g., dist...

Dynamic Agent-Ordering and Nogood-Repairing in Distributed Constraint Satisfaction Problems

The distributed constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) is a general formalization used to represent problems in distributed multi-agent systems. To deal with realistic problems, multiple local variables may be required within each autonomous agent. A number of heuristics have been developed for solving such multiple local variable problems. However, these approaches do not always guarantee agent...

Performance Analysis of a Repairable Robot Safety System with Standby, Imperfect Coverage and Reboot Delay

The present study deals with a robot safety system composed of standby robot units and inbuilt safety unit. When the main operative unit fails, it is replaced by the standby robot unit available in the system. The concept of reboot delay is also incorporated in this study according to which the robot unit is rebooted if it is not successfully recovered. The recovery and reboot times of failed u...

Asynchronous Weak-commitment Search for Solving Distributed Constraint Satisfaction Problems

A distributed constraint satisfaction problem (Distributed CSP) is a CSP in which variables and constraints are distributed among multiple automated agents, and various application problems in Distributed Artificial Intelligence can be formalized as Distributed CSPs. We develop a new algorithm for solving Distributed CSPs called asynchronous weak-commitment search, which is inspired by the weak...
